The mission of the Forest Research and Training Center, Sagarnath, Sarlahi is to promote sustainable forest management through scientific research, practical training, capacity development, technology transfer and effective dissemination of knowledge. The Center is committed to strengthening forest research, improving the technical capacity of forestry personnel and stakeholders, and supporting evidence-based forest management in Madhesh Province. Our major mission areas are: To conduct scientific research and studies related to forest resources, biodiversity, climate change, ecosystem conservation and sustainable forest management. To provide practical training, orientation and capacity development programs for forestry personnel, community forest user groups and other relevant stakeholders. To support the conservation, restoration, sustainable management and productive utilization of forest resources in Madhesh Province. To promote the use of modern technology, field-based knowledge, research findings and best practices in forest planning and management. To develop, publish and disseminate research reports, training manuals, technical guidelines, notices and other forest-related information. To coordinate with government agencies, academic institutions, community organizations and development partners for effective forest research and training activities.
